Jeep Remote Start: Everything You Need to Know

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Side Profile

Jeep, and the rest of the Stellantis family that also includes Chrysler, Dodge, and RAM, is a known innovator in the automotive industry. Sayer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is proud to sell these vehicles and today, we’d like to tell you about Jeep remote start. We’ve got a few questions we’re going to answer for you, and they include:

  • Does remote start turn on the heat?
  • What is the “x2” button on the Jeep key?

And if you’ve got further questions about what your Jeep can do, the team at Sayer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is ready to help you close to Blackfoot because we’re in Idaho Falls.

What is the “x2” Button on the Jeep key?

This is the way you turn on the remote start of your car. It should look like a circle with an “x2” inside it. Like the button suggests, you press it twice to activate the remote start on your key. Your lights should flash and your horn should honk, and after that, you’ll have 15 minutes of live time with your engine. Keep in mind that you also need to satisfy these criteria for your Jeep remote start to work:

  • You have to be in park (P)
  • The doors and hood must be closed
  • You have to have your foot off the brake
  • The key can’t be in the ignition
  • You have to have enough gas and battery (although this goes without saying)

Does Remote Start Turn on the Heat?

If you’ve got heated seats in your Jeep, Jeep remote start will turn on the heat for when you’re having those cold days on the road. In a matter of minutes, Pocatello drivers will be able to warm up as they hit the highway, and we know it gets chilly out in the mountains. This only happens when the weather is cold, so you don’t have to worry about an unpleasant surprise in the summertime. Alternatively, if you’ve got ventilated seats in your Jeep, when the weather is warm, you’ll be able to enjoy the cooling effects.
