Chrysler Group Receives Important Nod for Commitment to Environment
Here at Ron Sayer's Chrysler Jeep Dodge we know a thing or two about environmentalism. That’s because, our favorite automakers, all of whom are a part of Chrysler Group LLC, offer a myriad of fuel-efficient, eco-friendly new car models.
Take for instance, the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee which achieves an incredibly impressive highway rating of 31 miles per gallon thanks to its 2.4-liter MultiAir inline-4 engine and class-exclusive 9-speed auto transmission.
Yes, we guess you can say we take a page out of Chrysler’s playbook when it comes to environmental-consciousness: a commitment that was only bolstered recently, when the American parent company was recognized by the prestigious Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) for its headquarters and technology center in Michigan.
The honor that the Chrysler Group establishments received is called the Wildlife at Work certification. It deems that Chrysler Group is an industry leader in corporate conservation. The nod was no doubt thanks to Chrysler’s extensive eco-preservation efforts on its
Michigan facilities’ grounds: some of which even include the conservation of adjacent wetlands, and the creation of a pollination garden on the premises.
According to Greg Rose, director of environment, health and safety for Chrysler Group LLC, the decision to preserve the natural beauty and ecology of its chosen locations was an easy one, “Preserving the natural habitat of this site was part of the Master Plan when our Chrysler Group World Headquarters and Technology Center was first conceived,”1 he says.
