2014 Dodge Durango Ready for the Front Lines of Law Enforcement
There is a good chance that you will be seeing more and more new Dodge Durango models flying past you with sirens on and lights flashing this year. That is because the 2014 Durango was recently greenlit for duty as Dodge released the new 2014 Durango Special Service edition.
This new model is the third from the lineup of new Dodge vehicles to be specially outfitted for fleet use by law enforcement. State and local police organizations from around the country already use the Dodge Charger special edition for chasing down law-breakers on the highway, and now some extra off-road readiness is coming their way.
Peter Grady, vice president of Network Development and Fleet Operations at Dodge, commented, “The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service model is a state-of-the-art resource for fleet customers. It’s been specifically designed for the demands and rigors of fleet duty. It joins the
Dodge Charger pursuit and the RAM 1500 Special Service truck currently available to government fleet customers.”1
The new Durango Special Service model is built with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that can churn out 290 horsepower and has a driving-range of nearly 600 miles with a full tank. The Durango gets 25 mpg on the highway thanks to its advanced eight-speed automatic transmission and some impeccable engineering from the folks at Chrysler.
While this special fleet version of the Durango will not be available for regular retail purchase, you can still check out the 2014 Durango here at Ron Sayer's Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Located at 490 Northgate Mile Idaho Falls, ID, our dealership provides Idaho Falls residents with a great selection of new and used cars.
